The village of Newbridge in the parish of Shalfleet has often been neglected by historians but it has a rich history of agriculture, Methodism, milling and quarrying.
Newbridge Village Archive is an on-going project to record and document the history of the village. Since 2009 we have appealed for villagers past and present to share their photographs and memorieswith us.
This has provided a large digital collection of photographs of the village and a growing collection of personal memories.
Two displays have been staged so far and we hope to make this a regular event.
If you have material you are prepared to share with the village, please get in touch.
We also invite requests for research into people and properties and family history.
